The Pre-Karate program teaches more than just physical Karate moves.
It is a very well rounded program that goes far beyond kicking and punching, and will therefore meet their needs better than a traditional or regular martial arts program, which primarily is targeted towards older students.
Why Pre-Karate?
Children make up the largest group of Karate students today. However, many instructors have no real curriculum set up for their children's program and have no idea how to effectively train children, so they teach their regular adult karate program to the children, which can be very overwhelming to them.
At Colorado Karate Club, we realize that most young children ages 3 to 5 may not be developmentally or physically ready for the demands of a regular martial arts/karate program. Children develop their gifts, talents and challenges at their own pace.
Children of this age are in a unique growth period in their life. They are refined in their gross motor skills, while establishing a foundation in basic fundamental skills. These basic fundamental skills include: focus, teamwork, control, balance, memory, discipline, fitness, and coordination. In any other sport of activity, all of these 8 skills are important to have.
The more exposure to proper development in each of these skills, the better your child will be. For this reason, we have tailored a training course that increases the intensity and dexterity of each skill at every level.
In the Pre-Karate program, your child will train in an environment that is just right for them. They will train with other children in their age group, and not have to be overwhelmed by older children.
Each class will accommodate every student’s skills and abilities in a way that is not overly demanding or intimidating. That means more age-specific instruction with better results.
